Mode-Selective Dual-Band SWA for DBS and 6G

A dual-band U-shaped cascaded Slotted Waveguide Antenna (SWA) for intrinsic mode selection in next-generation wireless communications is introduced in this article. The antenna generates <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{T E}_{10}$</tex> mode at <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$12.50 \mathbf{~ G H z}$</tex> used for direct broadcast satellite applications. Similarly, in-phase <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{TE}_{10}+\text{TE}_{10}$</tex> mode is generated at 10.50 GHz, which enables stable directional beam steering, supports array thinning, smart material integration, and allows seamless integration for 6 G communication. Modeselective propagation has been achieved from the SWA without any intrinsic external circuitry. The array is simulated in the frequency domain solver in CST, and it shows practical triggers of desired modes with decent gain, full bandwidth coverage, and unidirectional stable radiation patterns. The SWA offers better direct-to-home (D2H) services and integrated 6G nodes in X/Kuband. A low-cost, scalable additive manufacturing technique can be incorporated to develop the prototype, followed by validation.

Abstract

A dual-band U-shaped cascaded Slotted Waveguide Antenna (SWA) for intrinsic mode selection in next-generation wireless communications is introduced in this article. The antenna generates <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{T E}_{10}$</tex> mode at <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$12.50 \mathbf{~ G H z}$</tex> used for direct broadcast satellite applications. Similarly, in-phase <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{TE}_{10}+\text{TE}_{10}$</tex> mode is generated at 10.50 GHz, which enables stable directional beam steering, supports array thinning, smart material integration, and allows seamless integration for 6 G communication. Modeselective propagation has been achieved from the SWA without any intrinsic external circuitry. The array is simulated in the frequency domain solver in CST, and it shows practical triggers of desired modes with decent gain, full bandwidth coverage, and unidirectional stable radiation patterns. The SWA offers better direct-to-home (D2H) services and integrated 6G nodes in X/Kuband. A low-cost, scalable additive manufacturing technique can be incorporated to develop the prototype, followed by validation.
