Characteristics of Pediatric Patients Admitted by Telehospitalist to Community Hospitals

Children admitted by telehospitalist comprised a variety of diagnoses, and nearly 1 in 5 had at least 1 complex chronic condition. Patients admitted by telehospitalist had reasonable rates of care escalation and reutilization, suggesting that this may be a feasible option for community hospital nighttime coverage.
