Integrating lean, green, and circular thinking towards sustainable manufacturing and supply chain operations
Remaking how we make things requires circular thinking to complement lean and green thinking. We ask: what opportunities, if any, do manufacturing firms have to integrate lean, green and circular (LGC) thinking in their supply chains to improve sustainability performance? By conducting a case study in a large manufacturing firm in the food industry, we identified the concurrent and integrated use of LGC thinking to improve overall sustainability performance. We propose that LGC thinking is compatible and complementary and can lead to progressive strategic performance improvement.
