Smart Helmet Detection
Road safety continues to be a major issue for two-wheeler riders, particularly in urban areas. Despite awareness campaigns, helmet compliance remains inconsistent. This paper proposes an automated surveillance framework that detects riders without helmets using YOLOv8, a deep-learning-based object detection model. The system is integrated with license plate recognition and OCR to identify violators and support automated traffic rule enforcement.
