Outcomes of Patients With Severe Acute Pancreatitis Requiring Prolonged Intensive Care Admission at a Tertiary Centre: A Retrospective Cohort Study
Despite the complexity and duration of illness, two-thirds of patients with ICU stays beyond 2 weeks survived to discharge, indicating that extended organ support should not be viewed as futile. These findings underscore the importance of sustained multidisciplinary care and support continued active management in selected patients with severe disease.
