Update Note (2026) Additional analysis indicates that the dominant latent coordinate of the Mamba representation is strongly correlated with the CO₂ signal level.The figure below compares the first principal component of the latent representation with the original CO₂ time series. This suggests that the representation primarily encodes the signal level of the input time series.Previous interpretations of spiral or limit-cycle latent dynamics should therefore be considered exploratory geometric observations rather than confirmed dynamical mechanisms.
