Digital Inclusion and Social Inequality in the Information Society
This article examines the relationship between digital inclusion and social inequality in contemporary information societies. The expansion of digital technologies has transformed the ways individuals access knowledge, participate in economic activities, and engage in social and civic life. However, unequal access to digital infrastructure, technological skills, and educational resources continues to reinforce existing social disparities. Drawing on academic literature related to the digital divide, digital literacy, and the network society, this study discusses how digital technologies can simultaneously expand opportunities and reproduce structural inequalities. The article also highlights the importance of public policies, educational initiatives, and inclusive technological design in promoting equitable digital participation. Understanding the social dimensions of digital access is essential for building more inclusive and sustainable digital societies.
