Design & Construction of a wireless mobile phone charger

This project presents the design and construction of a wireless mobile phone charger based on the principle of inductive charging. The system operates by transferring electrical energy between two coils through electromagnetic induction. A transmitter unit generates a high-frequency alternating current signal which is transmitted through a coil, creating a magnetic field that induces current in a receiver coil connected to a rectification and voltage regulation circuit. The receiver unit converts the induced signal into direct current suitable for charging a mobile phone battery. The prototype system was designed to operate at a resonant frequency to improve energy transfer efficiency. The device is compact, portable, and powered by a rechargeable battery, making it suitable for practical everyday use. Experimental testing demonstrated that the wireless charger is capable of successfully charging compatible smartphones, confirming the feasibility of inductive charging for portable consumer electronics. This work highlights the practical application of wireless power transfer technology and contributes to the development of convenient and efficient charging solutions, particularly in environments where direct access to power outlets is limited.
