Horizontal HF Large LPDA for EMF and HERO Testing

A broadband horizontal HF antenna was developed to enable electromagnetic testing of large missile systems, where conventional vertical HERO and EMV test antennas are impractical. The antenna's radiation pattern was experimentally verified using a Keysight FieldFox and Lumiloop EM field probe, confirming a uniform test field within 3dB. Results show the antenna meets field uniformity and bandwidth requirements for scalable HF testing applications.

Abstract

A broadband horizontal HF antenna was developed to enable electromagnetic testing of large missile systems, where conventional vertical HERO and EMV test antennas are impractical. The antenna's radiation pattern was experimentally verified using a Keysight FieldFox and Lumiloop EM field probe, confirming a uniform test field within 3dB. Results show the antenna meets field uniformity and bandwidth requirements for scalable HF testing applications.
