Effect of Tadasan and Vrikshasana on Leg Strength of College Students

Abstract The primary objective of this study was to investigate the impact of Tadasana (Mountain Pose) and Vrikshasana (Tree Pose) on the leg strength of college students. Using a simple random sampling method, forty male students aged 18 to 20 from RTM Nagpur University were selected and divided into an experimental group (N=20) and a control group (N=20). The experimental group underwent a supervised 12-week yoga training program consisting of five 45-minute sessions per week, while the control group maintained their regular activities. Leg strength was assessed using the standing broad jump test. Data analysis via independent samples t-test revealed significant improvements in the experimental group (p<0.05), whereas the control group showed no significant change. The study concludes that the consistent practice of Tadasana and Vrikshasana effectively enhances lower-body strength in college students.
