Abstention of Body Mass Index by practicing of yogic posture on school going students

Abstract The purpose of study was to find out the abstention on Body Mass Index by practicing of yogic posture among school going boys’ students. The study based on sample 40(forty) students on secondary school. The subject randomly selected from the secondary school of Howrah district. The age of subjects for the study was ranging 14 to 16 years. The variables selected for the study was selected Yogic posture (Independent variables) and Body Mass Index (Dependent variables). Their Body Mass Index was measured using the Weight and Height. Subjects practiced the selected Yogic posture on five days per week and 40 minutes per day. Training schedule was planned for six weeks. Single experimental group design was adopted for the present study. Mean and standard deviation were used as descriptive statistics and t-test was used to analyse the mean deference between the pre normal value and post treatment value of Body Mass Index. For this study was considered level of significance 0.05 only. Conclusion: The selected Yogic posture practice has abstention impact on Body Mass Index and also has positive effect on weight reduction in school going boys’ students.
