Dynamic Coordination Geometry Transformation for Near-Unity PLQY and Photo-Tunable Full-Color Circularly Polarized Luminescence

The rational design of chiral ligands for perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) and the understanding of their structure-property relationships is challenging. Herein, l/d-proline (l/d-Pro) induces a concentration-dependent coordination transition from monofunctional to bidentate mode, enabling defect passivation and chiral transfer. green chiral PQDs achieve 99.69% photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) and emission dissymmetry factor (<i>g</i>lum) of -2.1 × 10-3. A light-mediated halide exchange strategy enables full-visible (440-760 nm) emission tuning, enhancing |<i>g</i>lum| to 7.1 × 10-3 while maintaining high blue/red PLQYs (88.96%/91.42%) via enhanced octahedral distortion. High-performance full-color circularly polarized light-emitting diodes (CP-LEDs) and white LEDs are fabricated, providing a paradigm for chiral perovskite optoelectronic device design.

Abstract

The rational design of chiral ligands for perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) and the understanding of their structure-property relationships is challenging. Herein, l/d-proline (l/d-Pro) induces a concentration-dependent coordination transition from monofunctional to bidentate mode, enabling defect passivation and chiral transfer. green chiral PQDs achieve 99.69% photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) and emission dissymmetry factor (<i>g</i>lum) of -2.1 × 10-3. A light-mediated halide exchange strategy enables full-visible (440-760 nm) emission tuning, enhancing |<i>g</i>lum| to 7.1 × 10-3 while maintaining high blue/red PLQYs (88.96%/91.42%) via enhanced octahedral distortion. High-performance full-color circularly polarized light-emitting diodes (CP-LEDs) and white LEDs are fabricated, providing a paradigm for chiral perovskite optoelectronic device design.
