COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE HEAT AND MOISTURE REGIME IN CORNER JOINTS OF EXTERIOR WALLS MADE OF CLT PANELS WITH ETICS AND VENTILATED FACADE SYSTEMS

The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the hygrothermal performance of corner joints in cross-laminated timber (CLT) wall assemblies with different façade systems: an external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS) and a ventilated façade system (VFS). Calculations were performed using numerical simulation in COMSOL Multiphysics, taking into account the climatic conditions of Krasnoyarsk and the influence of the adhesive layer in CLT panels. Temperature fields, relative humidity distribution, and moisture content dynamics in the wall layers over a ten-year service period were determined. It was shown that the minimum inner surface temperatures in all analyzed configurations exceed the dew-point temperature, thereby eliminating the risk of surface condensation. Potential zones of local moisture accumulation were identified at the corner joints of timber-frame assemblies due to the passage of the zero isotherm through frame members. The maximum material moisture levels comply with the requirements of SP 50.13330.2024 and do not result in moisture accumulation within the structure. It was established that cladding systems without a supporting frame exhibit slightly more favorable thermal and moisture protection performance compared to timber-frame assemblies.
