The genome sequence of the Water Carpet, Lampropteryx suffumata (Denis & Schiffermiiller, 1775)
<ns3:p> We present a genome assembly from an individual male <ns3:italic>Lampropteryx suffumata</ns3:italic> (the Water Carpet; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Geometridae). The genome sequence is 581.6 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 31 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the Z sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 16.48 kilobases in length. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 18,663 protein coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns3:p>
