COGNITIVE PATTERN-BASED LEXICAL TRANSFER (CPLT) MODEL

This research proposal introduces the Cognitive Pattern-Based Lexical Transfer (CPLT) Model, a conceptual framework for accelerating multilingual speech production through frequency-driven lexical mapping between a speaker’s native language and a target language. The model proposes that speech generation can be facilitated by leveraging high-frequency lexical patterns from the native language and overlaying them onto target-language structures during early stages of language acquisition. Unlike traditional second-language learning approaches that prioritize grammar-first instruction, CPLT hypothesizes that fluent speech may emerge more efficiently through pattern-based lexical activation and cognitive transfer mechanisms. This paper presents the theoretical foundation of the CPLT model, reviews relevant literature in bilingual cognition and lexical access, and outlines a proposed experimental methodology for evaluating the model’s effectiveness. The work is presented as a conceptual research proposal intended to encourage experimental validation and discussion among researchers in linguistics, cognitive science, and language learning technologies.
