Highly Conductive, Stretchable Ion‐Conductive Hydrogels for Flexible Sensors and Flexible Supercapacitors

ABSTRACT Ionic conducting hydrogels (ICHs) represent promising materials for flexible electronics due to their inherent flexibility and conductivity. Herein, we report a hydrogel system (HEC/PVP/P(AM‐AMPS)/LiCl) synthesized via a one‐pot dissolution of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), acrylamide (AM), 2‐acrylamido‐2‐methylpropanesulfonic acid (AMPS), and hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) in lithium chloride (LiCl). This approach establishes dual cross‐linking networks through hydrogen bonding and ionic interactions, which significantly enhance the mechanical properties. The incorporated Li + ions simultaneously improve electrical conductivity and provide cryoprotection. These optimized hydrogels enable the fabrication of stable, flexible strain sensors. Furthermore, flexible supercapacitors based on this system demonstrate favorable capacitive behavior and cycling stability, highlighting their potential for flexible electronics.
