Construction of a Ground Functional Test Cell for Cruise Missiles : (Part I) Flow Analysis and Configuration Design

The ground functional test is the final integrated validation process conducted prior to the flight test of a cruise missile under development. In this test, missile launch and flight conditions are verified on the ground. The results and detailed procedure of the internal configuration of an indoor-type ground functional test cell for cruise missiles, based on computational flow analysis, are described herein. To use the limited space available within the existing building, the positions and shapes of the intake and exhaust silencers in the test section, as well as the missile test location, were determined based on computational flow analysis. The total pressure loss of the internal airflow in the test section was maintained at approximately 3.21%. . . . , , . 3.21% .

Abstract

The ground functional test is the final integrated validation process conducted prior to the flight test of a cruise missile under development. In this test, missile launch and flight conditions are verified on the ground. The results and detailed procedure of the internal configuration of an indoor-type ground functional test cell for cruise missiles, based on computational flow analysis, are described herein. To use the limited space available within the existing building, the positions and shapes of the intake and exhaust silencers in the test section, as well as the missile test location, were determined based on computational flow analysis. The total pressure loss of the internal airflow in the test section was maintained at approximately 3.21%. . . . , , . 3.21% .
