The Distributionally Robust Optimization Scheduling Strategy for Electricity-Hydrogen Integrated Intelligent Distribution Network

Introduction: To address the substantial uncertainty of renewable generation and load, as well as the difficulty of coordinated regulation of electricity-hydrogen in distribution networks, this paper proposes an optimization scheduling method for an electricity-hydrogen integrated intelligent distribution network (EH-IDN) based on distributionally robust optimization (DRO). The proposed method aims to fully exerts the synergistic effect of electricity-hydrogen storage to support the economic operation, renewable generation, consumption, and energy supply of EH-IDN. Methods: Firstly, a typical form of EH-IDN is designed to describe the internal interconnection topology and the conversion and transmission paths of electricity-hydrogen energy within EHIDN. Then, an optimization scheduling model for EH-IDN based on DRO is proposed to determine the optimal operation statuses of devices to maximize the total profit of EH-IDN. Finally, second- order cone relaxation, duality theory, and Wasserstein metric are applied to convert the proposed optimization scheduling model into a convex optimization problem. Results: Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method can exploit the coordinated operation of long-term hydrogen storage and short-term electricity storage to effectively stabilize the short/long-term imbalance of source-load and support the flexible operation of EH-IDN. Discussion: Comparative studies show that the proposed method achieves a balance between robustness and economy, exhibiting good convergence and improving both the flexibility and economic performance of EH-IDN's operation. discussion: Comparative experiments with other scenarios and optimization methods are conducted to confirm the superiority of the proposed method. Specifically, the designed scenarios include only hydrogen storage participating in optimization scheduling and only the nearest hydrogen transmission pipelines being retained. In addition, the optimization methods involved in the comparison include robust optimization and stochastic programming. Conclusion: Compared with other scenarios and optimization methods, the performance of the collaboration of electricity-hydrogen storage in improving the economic benefits of EH-IDN and DRO in dealing with uncertainties is superior.
