Thermodynamics of Open Spacetime: A Coherent Field Framework for the Dark Sector and Irreversible Cosmic Evolution

The Standard Model of Cosmology (ΛCDM), despite its remarkable successes in describing large-scale structure, faces an existential challenge. The accumulation of statistically significant tensions—namely the Hubble tension (H0), the anomalously early galaxy formation observed by the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), and the dynamic Dark Energy in the phantom regime (w<−1) indicated by DESI—suggests a fundamental deficit in the model's thermodynamic basis: the assumption of adiabaticity. This manuscript presents the Thermodynamics of Open Spacetime (TOST) as a rigorous extension of General Relativity where the vacuum acts as an energetic reservoir driving irreversible matter creation. This process is demonstrated to appear phenomenologically as an effective negative pressure, explaining the phantom observations without violating the Null Energy Condition. To meet the stringent requirements of peer review and eliminate the weaknesses identified in the preliminary critique (“Kill-Shots”), three crucial theoretical innovations are integrated: (1) An Exponential Dispersion Relation (or Non-Local Form Factor), derived from non-local Effective Field Theory (EFT), which renders the medium transparent to high-frequency gravitational waves (LIGO) while modifying galactic scales; (2) A Sector Separation (or Dark Sector Isolation) mechanism for matter creation (the “BBN-Firewall”), which guarantees baryonic conservation and safeguards Big Bang Nucleosynthesis while accelerating potential well deepening for JWST galaxies; and (3) An interpretation of Dark Matter as Topological Solitons/Vortices of a superfluid condensate to hydrodynamically explain the collisionless dynamics of the Bullet Cluster. Finally, by appealing to the WBE Scaling Laws (West, Brown, Enquist), it is demonstrated that the Metabolic Rate Γ of creation follows fundamental fractal network principles, suggesting a deep isomorphism between biological allometry and cosmic evolution.
