NEXT-GENERATION MICROBIAL ENGINEERING FOR SUSTAINABLE BIOPROCESSING AND ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION
Abstract The global transition toward sustainable industrial systems necessitates innovative biotechnological solutions capable of replacing resource-intensive chemical processes and mitigating environmental pollution. Microbial engineering has emerged as a transformative approach enabling tailored metabolic pathways for renewable bio-based production and bioremediation applications. This study explores next-generation microbial engineering strategies for sustainable bioprocessing and environmental remediation, with emphasis on advances in synthetic biology, metabolic pathway optimization, and bioreactor integration. By integrating systems biology, genetic engineering, and industrial biotechnology perspectives, the research evaluates how engineered microorganisms contribute to circular bioeconomy development. The objective is to identify scalable microbial platforms capable of addressing both industrial sustainability and ecological restoration challenges.
