Complete Genome Sequence of a Staphylococcus sciuri Carrying Multiple Copies of Mutated cfr Genes Isolated from a Pig Farm in Korea
Livestock-associated staphylococci, such as non-aureus staphylococci, have a significant role in acquisition, amplification, and transmission of antimicrobial resistance genes, including methicillin (mecA) and oxazolidinone (cfr) resistance genes. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of a linezolid-susceptible S. sciuri SSC2 strain carrying three copies of cfr genes with Q148K mutation isolated from a pig farm in Korea. The SSC2 strain also carries multiple copies of mecA (mecA1 and mecA2) and fexA (fexA1 and fexA2) genes as well as the resistance gene sal(A) associated with lincosamide and streptogramin resistance.
