CiviSafe: A Web-Based Campus Infrastructure Issue Reporting and Management System
CiviSafe is a web-based campus infrastructure issue reporting and management platform designed to improve communication between students and campus administration. Many educational institutions still rely on traditional complaint reporting methods such as registers, emails, or verbal communication, which often result in delayed responses and lack of transparency. The proposed system enables students to digitally report infrastructure issues including classroom maintenance problems, sanitation issues, electrical faults, and facility damage. The platform provides a simple user interface where students can submit complaints and track the status of their requests. Administrators can access a centralized dashboard to review complaints, categorize issues, assign priorities, and update the resolution status. This improves accountability and allows institutions to maintain proper records of infrastructure maintenance activities. The system is implemented using modern web technologies including React.js for the frontend interface, Node.js and Express.js for backend services, and PostgreSQL for database management. By digitizing the complaint reporting process, CiviSafe enhances transparency, reduces response time, and improves the efficiency of campus infrastructure management. The project demonstrates how digital platforms can support smart campus initiatives by providing structured communication channels between students and administrative authorities.
