The authors conducted an analysis of existing IoT systems with remote monitoring functions and identified their objectives. They theoretically substantiated the necessity and efficiency of IoT technologies as an innovation development direction of the agro-industrial complex in the Komi Republic. The goal of this paper is a comprehensive analysis of the key elements of IoT infrastructure in the agro-industrial complex with identification of its advantages, typical risks and economic efficiency. The novelty and the level of knowledge on this issue lies in an attempt to systematise the data on IoT technologies as an innovation development direction of the agro-industrial complex in the Komi Republic. The methods used in the research include analysis, synthesis, and integration of the obtained data.
