How risky is human machine interaction?
You think walking is safe? Discover why the most ordinary things—like simply walking—can be more dangerous than you expect, and how your own sense of safety might be your biggest risk. After Markus completed his education as a childcare professional and psychology teacher, in his PhD he devoted himself to the question of how young people perceive risks and how this knowledge can be used to prevent accidents. After several years working in occupational safety, Markus spent 15 years working in the field of human factors in traffic safety. Together with his team, he set up the Driving Simulation Lab to investigate issues of road safety in general and in particular the effects of automation on drivers and cyclists in traffic. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
