Asymptotic Expansions for Generalized Bernstein–Durrmeyer and Genuine Bernstein–Durrmeyer Operators
Abstract In this paper, we study an asymptotic expansion for a general family of Bernstein–Durrmeyer type operators $$L_n^{j,i}$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msubsup> <mml:mi>L</mml:mi> <mml:mi>n</mml:mi> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>j</mml:mi> <mml:mo>,</mml:mo> <mml:mi>i</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> </mml:msubsup> </mml:math> , $$i,j\in {\mathbb {N}}_0$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>i</mml:mi> <mml:mo>,</mml:mo> <mml:mi>j</mml:mi> <mml:mo>∈</mml:mo> <mml:msub> <mml:mi>N</mml:mi> <mml:mn>0</mml:mn> </mml:msub> </mml:mrow> </mml:math> . For $$i=j=1$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>i</mml:mi> <mml:mo>=</mml:mo> <mml:mi>j</mml:mi> <mml:mo>=</mml:mo> <mml:mn>1</mml:mn> </mml:mrow> </mml:math> , these operators reduce to the genuine Bernstein–Durrmeyer operators, while for $$i=j=0$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>i</mml:mi> <mml:mo>=</mml:mo> <mml:mi>j</mml:mi> <mml:mo>=</mml:mo> <mml:mn>0</mml:mn> </mml:mrow> </mml:math> they coincide with the classical Bernstein–Durrmeyer operators. We derive an explicit asymptotic expansion for $$L_n^{j,i}$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:msubsup> <mml:mi>L</mml:mi> <mml:mi>n</mml:mi> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>j</mml:mi> <mml:mo>,</mml:mo> <mml:mi>i</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> </mml:msubsup> </mml:math> under suitable smoothness conditions on the approximated function.
