SAfe-ReCon: A tool for structural analysis under fire for reinforced concrete

SAfe-ReCon stands for Structural Analysis under fire : Reinforced Concrete It performs sequentially coupled thermo-mechanical analysis for a complete fire event i.e., heating and cooling phase. It constists of two modules: Thermal module: Performs 2D transient heat transfer analysis with natural (thermal) boundary conditions, Implicit formulation solved using itterative solver, Inbuilt and userdefined temperature dependent thermal properties can be used, Considers irrecoverage thermal properties for concrete during cooling phase, The effect of thermal spalling can be considered by updating the computational domain at each time step and moving the thermal boundary conditions to new domain boundaries, Pre and post processing using dedicated custom made user interface. Mechanical module: Structrural members are modelling using flexibility based distributed plasticity fiber beam element, Members can be modelled using single element with up to 7 integration points along the element length, Gauss-Lobatto and Gauss-Legendre Integration schemes are available, Geometric and material nonlinearities are considered, Temperature dependent cyclic uniaxial material law for concrete and reinforcing steel, Inbuilt material properties based on Eurocode 2 and fib Bulletin 108, with possibility of user defined inputs, Implicit and explicit transient thermal strain model for concrete are available. Developed since 2018. Validated against various experiements and, other commercial and research codes.
