Exploring Regulation of Health Practitioners in the Eastern Mediterranean Region: A Scoping Review of Systems, Structures, and Practices
This scoping review aims to systematically map regulatory frameworks governing health professional licensing, license renewal, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements across countries of the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR), with a focused sub-analysis of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations. The review will identify governance structures, digital licensing systems, CPD enforcement mechanisms, and evidence gaps in regulatory impact and workforce outcomes.
