Objectives:Intuitive eating, which is a new approach to examine conditions such as disordered eating patterns and eating disorders, has recently been emphasized. This study aimed to adapt the "Intuitive Eating Scale for Pregnant Women" into Turkish in order to gain information about the intuitive eating behaviors of pregnant women and their effects. Materials and Methods:In our study, we conducted a Turkish adaptation study of the Intuitive Eating Scale for Pregnant Women (IES-PreP) adapted from Tylka's IES scale by Daundasekara et al. (2017).The study is based on data collected from 467 voluntary pregnant women aged 18 and above. Results:The Kendal W agreement test conducted to test the language equivalence of the scale showed agreement between expert opinions. As a result of the factor analyses, it was concluded that the scale showed a threedimensional structure (Unconditional Consent to Eating-ICE, Eating for Physical Reasons Instead of Emotional Reasons-FSY, Relying on Hunger and Satiety Cues to Determine When and How Much to Eat-ATIG).The item-total correlations of the IES-PreP's sub-dimensions were found to be between 0.43 and 0.70.It was determined that the statistical values related to the fit of the confirmatory factor analysis had fit values at the desired level.Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficients of the scale were calculated as 0.70 for the BMI subscale, 0.84 for the FSI subscale, and 0.83 for the ATIG subscale. The 4-week test-retest correlation coefficient was calculated as r=0.69 for the overall scale (BMI, r=0.74;FSI, r=0.78;ATIG, r=0.66). Conclusions:The data obtained from this study showed that the IES-PreP scale can be used as a valid and reliable measurement tool to assess prepregnancy intuitive eating attitudes and behaviors in pregnant women.
