Combination therapy pricing must address clinical displacement and supportive care inequities
This letter responds to Briggs et al. (2025) by highlighting how combination therapy pricing frameworks must account not only for financial value attribution but also for real-world delivery constraints. Using a clinically support example of metastatic prostate cancer, it illustrates how supportive care is frequently displaced in capacity-constrained oncology services—undermining both clinical outcomes and equity. We argue for payer-led frameworks that safeguard access to high-value, foundational care alongside innovative treatments.
