Research on Anti-Electromagnetic Interference Optimization Technology for UAV-Assisted Operations of High Voltage Transmission Lines

Introduction: With the development of intelligent assisted operations technology, the application of drones in power transmission line-assisted operations is becoming increasingly widespread. However, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)-assisted operations face significant challenges due to the strong electromagnetic interference present around high-voltage transmission lines. This study aims to address the urgent need to optimize UAV-assisted operations paths while avoiding electromagnetic interference. Methods: This paper proposes an anti-electromagnetic interference UAV-assisted operations approach for high-voltage transmission lines. An optimization model is constructed that considers electromagnetic interference, workspace limitations, and energy consumption. To solve this model, an improved spider wasp optimization algorithm is developed, which performs hierarchical optimization to determine the shortest assisted operations route and minimize energy use. Results: Taking a 500 kV double-circuit transmission line on the same tower as a case study, numerical simulations demonstrate that the proposed method effectively optimizes the UAV-assisted operations path and significantly reduces energy consumption. Discussion: Comparative analyses with other optimization methods show that the improved spider wasp optimizer outperforms conventional approaches in both solution quality and efficiency. The proposed method demonstrates substantial advantages in path planning under complex electromagnetic conditions and achieves superior energy efficiency. Conclusion: The proposed UAV-assisted operations route optimization method enhances path planning under complex electromagnetic conditions and offers substantial benefits in energy efficiency. The improved optimization algorithm demonstrates strong potential for practical applications in intelligent power transmission line-assisted operations.
