Povečanje zavzetosti študentov skozi so-ustvarjanje OER: Študija primera Odprte Univerze Tanzanije
This master’s thesis explores the landscape of co-creation of Open Educational Resources (OER) in the context of higher education, with a specific focus on the Open University of Tanzania (OUT). Using a mixed methods approach the study assesses the level of awareness, current practices, benefits, and challenges associated with co-creation of OER among 74 tutors at OUT. The results show a diverse understanding of OER and co-creation practices among participants, highlighting the need for educational initiatives that address awareness gaps and encourage collaborative content development. While some tutors have actively engaged in co-creation efforts, others encounter barriers such as limited institutional support and poor awareness of existing guidelines. Strategies for improving student engagement through the co-creation of OER are explored, with participants expressing interest in the use of multimedia resources and collaborative evaluation techniques. The study also highlights the benefits such as increased student engagement and understanding, as well as challenges such as time constraints and technical limitations. Recommendations for practice and future research are provided, emphasizing the importance of institutional support, faculty development, and policy improvement to foster a culture of collaborative content development in higher education. Overall, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of OER co-creation practices and their potential to transform teaching and learning experiences, paving the way for more inclusive and innovative educational practices in Tanzania and beyond.
