İklim Değişikliği Sürecinde Tahıllarda Korumalı Toprak İşleme Yöntemlerinin Benimsenmesi

Climate change is exerting increasing pressure on cereal production systems.Rising temperatures, irregular precipitation regimes, and the risk of drought make the sustainability of conventional tillage methods challenging. In this context, the adoption of Conservation Tillage (CT) methods in cereal farming stands out as a critical adaptation strategy for mitigating the adverse effects of climate change.CT is based on three main principles: minimum soil disturbance, continuous soil cover (mulch), and crop rotation. These methods significantly strengthen the resilience of agricultural systems by increasing soil organic matter and moisture content, reducing soil erosion, and promoting carbon sequestration.Specifically, No-Till applications provide a significant advantage against drought by enhancing Water Use Efficiency (WUE).However, the widespread adoption of CT faces socio-economic and technical barriers, such as high initial equipment costs, increased difficulty in weed control, and gaps in farmers' knowledge levels. This review article evaluates the benefits of CT on cereal yield, soil health, and climate adaptation in light of current literature, and addresses the policy and research priorities required for the adoption of these methods at the national and global levels.
