Adaptive capabilities and phytosanitary status of organic and conventional wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) under drought conditions
Climate change is leading to an increase in the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, among which drought represents one of the most significant challenges for agriculture. The present study follows the response of wheat variety Miryana, cultivated using organic and conventional technology for six consecutive years. The relationship between productivity and phytosanitary condition of plants depending on the technology applied was analyzed. The results show that in conventional cultivation, yields are significantly affected by changes in agrometeorological conditions. Organically grown wheat shows better adaptability to adverse climatic factors, which leads to more sustainable and stable yields over the years.
