This article explores the role of the district nurse in managing patients who self-neglect, highlighting the ethical issues and safeguarding responsibilities that nurses need to consider. The article argues that a multidisciplinary approach is essential to ensure coordinated and patient-focused care. To strengthen community service collaboration, the author recommends the implementation of regular monthly multidisciplinary team meetings to review complex cases and enhance communication between health and social care professionals in the community.
