Preliminary report on a small collection of native american artifacts from Arizona and Texas, USA from the Institute of Archaeology, Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland

This paper presents, analyzes, and summarizes a small collection of Native American artifacts from the US Southwest and surrounding areas that consist of a few projectile points and painted pottery sherds donated to the Institute of Archaeology at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland in the second half of the twentieth century. The artifacts (eight items in total) were collected in present-day Arizona and Texas by two local residents. Later, they were donated to the Jagiellonian University in Kraków by Frederic G. Sobanik, the son of a Polish immigrant to the United States, John Sobanik. The research presented in the paper includes an initial analysis of the artifacts and attempts to place them within the broader cultural and chronological context of the native pre-Columbian North American Southwest.
