Political Memory as Agonistic Practice on Social Media
In recent decades, digital platforms have become central arenas for reconfiguring cultural memory. Slogans such as “Smrt fašizmu – svoboda narodu” reappear within algorithmically curated environments, where users repeat, adapt, and contest them in relation to contemporary struggles. The shift from top-down memory regimes to platform-mediated practices calls for rethinking the relationship between multimodality, platform affordances, and regimes of remembering. Digital memory operates within a “memory ecology” shaped by personalization and feedback loops, transforming ritualized mnemonic forms into sites of political agonism, where meaning, legitimacy, and power are continuously negotiated in the present.
