Bioinformatics Analysis of Heavy Metal Remediation Genes and Proteins in Aspergillus awamori

AbstractHeavy metal contamination poses a significant environmental challenge due to its toxic effects on ecosystems and human health. Aspergillus awamori, a filamentous fungus, has been identified as an effective organism for heavy metal bioremediation due to its unique genetic and protein- based mechanisms. This study employs bioinformatics tools to analyze the genes and protein associated with heavy metal tolerance and detoxification in A. awamori. Using sequence mining, functional annotation, and protein interaction analysis, we identified key genes and proteins involved in metal binding, transport, and oxidative stress response. The findings provide insights into the molecular mechanisms underpinning fungal bioremediation and offer potential targets for further genetic engineering to enhance metal detoxification capabilities.
