Design of a dual-band metamaterial absorber via dispersion parameter engineering
This article introduces a low-profile, broadband, wide-angle metamaterial absorber using a 3D structure. It comprises a top high-resistance ITO film, a bottom low-resistance ITO layer, and a middle SSPP grid. Broadband absorption is achieved by equalizing the effective ε r and µ r through dispersion modulation. The absorber resonates at 2.6, 16.5, and 33.0 GHz. With a thickness of only 0.26λ 0 , it covers 1.8–3.2 GHz and 6.2–40 GHz, achieving a 158% fractional bandwidth. For both TE and TM polarizations, it maintains over 90% absorption at incident angles up to 50°, demonstrating excellent comprehensive performance.
