Investment Behaviour and Financial Independence among Women Professionals in Ernakulam, Kerala
Investment behaviour plays a vital role in determining the long-term financial stability and economic well-being of individuals and households. In the contemporary economic environment, mere saving is no longer sufficient to ensure financial security due to rising inflation, fluctuating interest rates, and increasing cost of living. As a result, individuals are required to make informed and strategic investment decisions to preserve and enhance their wealth over time. Over the past few decades, there has been a noticeable increase in the participation of women in professional occupations across sectors such as education, healthcare, information technology, banking, finance, and corporate services. This shift has resulted in women earning independent incomes and becoming active contributors to household finances. Consequently, women professionals are increasingly involved in financial planning and investment decision-making.
