Predicting Geriatric Rehabilitation Stays of ≤4 Weeks After Hip Fracture Surgery: Machine Learning Approach Using Physical Activity and Patient Data
This study developed several ML models to predict a geriatric rehabilitation stay of ≤4 weeks in a skilled nursing home for older patients after hip fracture surgery. Among these models, the SVM proved to be highly accurate in its predictions with an accuracy of 0.95 (95% CI 0.85-1.00), precision of 0.91 (95% CI 0.71-1.00), recall of 1.00 (95% CI 1.00-1.00), F1-score of 0.95 (95% CI 0.83-1.00), and AUC of 0.97 (95% CI 0.88-1.00).
