Abstract PbCl 2 ‐Fe/AC, PbCl 2 ‐Ce/AC, and PbCl 2 ‐Fe‐Ce/AC catalysts were prepared, and the effect of PbCl 2 on the efficiency of the catalyst for low temperature NH 3 + CO synergistic removal of NO and its poisoning mechanism were investigated. A mechanism for NO removal was proposed based on the characterization results. The catalyst was characterized by scanning electron microscopy and X‐ray diffraction, and it was found that poisoning did not change the pore structure but led to increased crystallization and reduced the number of chemisorbed oxygen (O β ) and oxygen‐containing functional groups. The poisoning mechanism of PbCl 2 on the catalyst is proposed, and the physical mechanism affects the degree of agglomeration of metal oxides and plugs the micropores. In the chemical mechanism, poisoning leads to competitive adsorption of the reaction gas, which destroys the oxygen‐containing functional groups and weakens the NO removal activity of the catalyst.

In the chemical mechanism, poisoning leads to competitive adsorption of the reaction gas, which destroys the oxygen‐containing functional groups and weakens the NO removal activity of the catalyst.
