Journey of English Language and its Future

The English language started in the Anglo-Saxon period. There are three language families, which are the Indo-European family of languages, the Germanic family of language and the origin of English. The Old English Period is the early history of the English language. The Middle English Period is the impact of the Norman Conquest on the English Language. The Modern English Period is influenced by Latin and Greek. Bible Translation is the impact of the Renaissance. Sound changes in the English Language are the Great Vowel Shift. From the Old English Period to the Modern English Period, there are a lot of changes in vocabulary, word formation, Grammar, Phonology, Morphology, Semantics and so on. Foreign influence is shown on English in the 17th, 18th and 19th Centuries. Colonialism and the English language are the expansion of Vocabulary, Semantics change, Pidgins and Creoles. Besides, it discusses the contribution of major writers to enrich the English language. We trace out the evolution of Standard English and the significance of English in this globalised world where technology reigns. A lot of technical words are used in this language. Its proof is Hinglish, Kanglish and Chinglish and so on. These words appear from Pidgin. It is developing with increasing and prominent writers and World Official language. It is used in International seminars, games, news, sitting, etc. In the opinion of David Crystal, "English will remain the only language left to be learned, even in 500 years, having the status of a global language and finding itself in the service of the world community forever.’' After all Future of English will be fulgent.
