Beyond Access: How Homelessness Shapes Kidney Trajectories in Diabetes Mellitus
Wiens et al. address a critical and understudied intersection of social determinants and microvascular disease by quantifying kidney-related adverse events among people with diabetes and a history of homelessness.1 The large, population-level linkage and use of clinically relevant endpoints (eGFR trajectory, renal replacement therapy, and ambulatory-care-sensitive admissions) make an important contribution to nephrology and public-health policy.
