Revitalization as a tool of local development on the example of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship
The aim of the article is to try to answer the question of whether local government units use the tools resulting from the Revitalization Act of 9 October 2015 (Ustawa o rewitalizacji…, 2017), i.e. whether they use renewal activities to create local development. The article presents the results of research, which consisted of query of 122 revitalization programs from the area of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. The analysis showed that the vast majority of local government authorities decided to expand the catalogue of development planning tools to include Local and Municipal Revitalization Programmes. The results of the study covering the scope of undertaken interventions indicate that this tool was mainly used to counteract infrastructure deficits.
