DEBS-053 | DCBs in the Treatment of Acute Coronary Syndrome
Contemporary treatment of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is by PTCA with stent/s. The stent implantation has early and late complications. Devastating early complications include the no-reflow phenomenon (5-60%) and acute/subacute stent thrombosis (1.1-1.9%). Late complications include stent thrombosis (0.4-0.6%), restenosis (<10%), and bleeding risk associated with prolonged DAPT. Drug-coated balloons (DCB) have shown good procedural safety and efficacy profile in PTCA of patients with stable coronary disease.
