Connection point selection method for converter stations of embedded DC system based on comprehensive indices evaluation system

Embedded DC system will be a significant component during the existing power system transfer into the new power system, however, as a new form of power transmission, there is only a few research focuses on the connection point selection of the embedded DC system, therefore, configuration method for converter stations of embedded DC System based on comprehensive indices evaluation system is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the definition and function of the embedded DC system are introduced in the AC network through comparing with the traditional cross-region HVDC system. Secondly, considering the operation characteristic of the embedded DC system and the influence of its connection on the AC-DC hybrid network, the comprehensive indices evaluation system is established from three aspect included in cost evaluation indices, static operation evaluation indices and dynamic operation evaluation indices, and the corresponding calculation method for the indices evaluation system is proposed to select the connection point of the converter stations. Finally, based on the result of the examples analysis, it is evident that the proposed configuration method is effective and feasible at the stage of plan and design for the embedded DC system in the actual power system.
