Wind turbine vibration safety threshold calculation analysis and field data verification
To address the lack of safety thresholds for nacelle vibration (nodding and yawing) in large wind turbines, this paper proposes a method based on Lyapunov stability theory. By constructing an impassable safety framework and integrating field operational data via system identification, quantitative vibration safety thresholds for MW-scale turbines are determined. A case study on gearbox torque arm displacement demonstrates that all measured data points lie within the derived safety limits, effectively distinguishing safe from hazardous states. This validates the method’s feasibility and provides a technical foundation for safe and stable turbine operation.
