An Innovative Creative Writing Practice to Enhance Reflective Learning in Post-Clinical Conference
This article explores a creative writing exercise (CWE) for post-clinical conferences in an accelerated baccalaureate program to support full participation in debriefing. Developed to enhance reflection-based learning, the CWE aimed to help students transition from the busy clinical environment to prepare for debriefing. Evaluations showed that the CWE met its goals. Because the exercise was brief and done during clinical hours, the burdens of traditional reflective writing were mitigated. The CWE helped students have something to share, ensuring equal opportunity for participation in debriefing.
