Metabolics as a Process Language

This publication presents the complete initial volume of the Metabolics Research Series (Parts I – X), introducing Metabolics as a process- oriented meta- language for analyzing dynamic systems across biological, cognitive, economic, technological, and socio-technical domains. Rather than proposing a closed theoretical system, the Metabolics framework functions as an integrative descriptive orientation emphasizing: rhythmic regulation of activity and recovery, exchange dynamics of energy, information, and symbolic resources, environmental coupling and adaptive interaction, process stability within hybrid human – technology ecosystems. The series progressively develops the framework through: conceptual foundations (Part I), applied exploratory analysis (Part II), empirical observation and process mapping (Part III), methodological and measurement orientation (Part IV), exploratory validation (Part V), formalization and computational modeling pathways (Part VI), comparative positioning within contemporary scientific paradigms (Part VII), AI and digital cognition implications (Part VIII), ethics and sustainability considerations (Part IX), integrative synthesis toward unified process ecology (Part X). Metabolics is positioned not as a competing theory but as a bridging meta- language designed to facilitate interdisciplinary dialogue in contexts where hybrid physical – digital – cognitive environments require dynamic process analysis rather than static structural modeling. The framework remains exploratory and open-ended, inviting empirical validation, computational formalization, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
