A physically consistent simulations of two-phase viscoelastic turbulent jets emerging from long tubes
The interfacial characteristics of two-phase viscoelastic turbulent jets exhibit a strong dependence on upstream flow, particularly for jets emerging from long tubes. To this end, this Letter for the first time reproduced the physically consistent two-phase viscoelastic turbulent jets by employing a recycling boundary condition to replicate the equivalent state of fully developed turbulent inflow. Comparative analysis identifies that the viscoelasticity suppresses the vortex structure within the tube to stabilize jet column and undergoes rapid relaxation at the nozzle and subsequent streamwise decay. The developed methodology provides the fully coupled velocity and stress fields necessary for analyzing such viscoelastic flow.
